Malaga beat 10-man Racing Santander 3-0 to lift them back into the top four in La Liga.

Malaga have moved into the top four of La Liga after beating 10-man Racing Santander 3-0 at Estadio La Rosaleda this evening.

The visitors suffered a terrible start to the match when Francis conceded a penalty and was shown a red card after just four minutes.

They were let off from the worst possible start, however, when Mario Fernandez saved Santi Cazorla's spot kick.

The home side wouldn't have to wait too long for the first goal, however. Nacho Monreal found Isco and the Spanish midfielder made no mistake with his effort to give Malaga the lead.

The 10 men of Racing managed to hold out until just after the hour mark when Malaga doubled their advantage through Cazorla, who made up for his earlier missed penalty.

The hosts then killed the game off completely with five minutes left when Ruud van Nistelrooy slid his shot past Fernandez.

The result means that Malaga move up to third in La Liga, one point ahead of Valencia, while Racing remain down in 19th place.
