Report: Javi Gracia close to Malaga post

A report claims that former Osasuna boss Javi Gracia is close to becoming the new head coach of Malaga.

Javi Gracia is reportedly close to becoming the new head coach of Malaga.

The Spaniard stepped down from his position with Osasuna at the end of the 2013-14 season after the Pamplona outfit were relegated from La Liga.

According to AS, however, Gracia will soon return to Spain's top flight, with Malaga preparing to appoint the 44-year-old on a long-term deal.

Former Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino has already reportedly turned down the chance to become the new manager of Malaga this summer.

Gracia also managed Almeria during the 2012-13 season.
