Ignacio Camacho delighted to receive international recognition

Camacho: 'My hard work has paid off'

Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho has revealed his delight after being called up to the latest Spain squad.

The 24-year-old was handed his first call-up last week after impressing for his club in the early part of the new season.

"The call-up is not just a recognition of my work but the whole of the Malaga team," Camacho told La Opinion de Malaga.

"I found out the news when I was on my way home because I received a lot of messages on my phone, but I'm going to go there and train like I do with my club.

"I'm a professional and I'll try to do my best, so I'll enjoy the atmosphere and hopefully learn things."

Spain face Belarus in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Saturday, before taking on Germany in a friendly three days later.
