Maccabi qualify for last 32

Maccabi Tel-Aviv have booked their place in the last 32 of the Europa League courtesy of a 1-0 win over Bordeaux.

The Israeli side have pipped APOEL to second in Group F, with the Cypriot side falling to a 2-0 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The pivotal moment of the game came when Mathieu Chalme brought down Munas Dabbur inside the area in the 73rd minute.

He was then shown a second yellow card, leaving the visitors to play the rest of the game with 10 men.

Eran Zahavi dispatched the resulting penalty, putting the Israeli outfit well on course for a spot in the knockout stages of the competition.

Kevin Olimpa prevented Yoav Ziv from adding to the lead late on, but the one goal was all that the home side needed to progress.
