Lyon ended the Ligue 1 season with a 1-0 victory over Rennes thanks to a late winner from Clinton Njie.

Both teams started the match quickly, with Mohamed Yattara heading over the bar for Lyon and Abdoulaye Doucoure missing from long range at the other end.

Rennes dominated the closing period of the first half, but were unable to make a breakthrough.

Ola Toivonen missed the target on the half-hour mark before Paul-Georges Ntep saw his shot saved five minutes later.

Corentin Tolisso missed the target in the 65th minute and Njie's right-footed shot was high and wide.

With the match looking destined to finish goalless, Njie scored on the counter-attack in the 86th minute to give Lyon the victory.
