Remi Garde to discuss Lyon future

Remi Garde reveals that he will sit down with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas to discuss his future after Wednesday's game with Valenciennes.

Lyon boss Remi Garde is set to extend his stay at the Stade de Gerland following last Saturday's Coupe de France triumph.

The 45-year-old, who signed a one-year deal when taking charge of the Rhone club last June, has guided the team to two domestic finals and fifth place in Ligue 1.

Garde said that he was unwilling to speak to the press prior to the Coupe de France final but has now revealed that he will hold talks with club president Jean-Michel Aulas to discuss his future.

"Before the match, I don't want him to read [my thoughts] in the newspaper," the Frenchman told L'Equipe. "Otherwise, it is no hardship to meet with him.

"I have considered everything, Saturday's win as well. Everybody is proud of the club, myself more so than anyone. Is my stock high now? It's not for me to judge."

Before Saturday, Lyon had not won a trophy since the 2008 Coupe de France.
