Jurgen Klopp's agent dismisses speculation that the Liverpool manager will replace Hansi Flick after Germany's exit from the World Cup.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp's agent has dismissed speculation that his client is set to replace Germany manager Hansi Flick, after the nation's exit from the World Cup.

Germany were eliminated from the tournament at the group stages for a second time in four years after Japan beat Spain, despite a 4-2 victory over Costa Rica.

Asked by Sky Sports Germany whether Klopp would be willing to take over the national team, if the decision was made to part company with Flick, Marc Kosicke dismissed the idea.

"It's a media issue, Jurgen has a contract in Liverpool until 2026 and he intends to fulfil it," he told the outlet.

The 55-year-old has been in charge at Anfield since 2015 and had initially planned to walk away once his contract expired in 2024.

However, he signed a four-year extension in April, meaning he will have been in charge at Anfield for 11 years once his current contract ends.

The DFB have confirmed that they will open talks with Flick, who took over the role after their Euro 2020 exit at the hands of England, this week.
