Brendan Rodgers says that there aren't many players who could be signed by the club and make a difference to the team.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that there are not many players who could improve the team.

The former Swansea City boss took over at Anfield last month following the departure of Kenny Dalglish.

Since then the club has been linked with signing numerous players such as Demba Ba, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Scott Sinclair. However, Rodgers claims that the agents of certain talent don't help the situation.

Rodgers said: "I read every day players that are linked with here and unfortunately, especially for the supporters, it's a difficult time because you've got agents linking players with Liverpool just purely because it's great for them to be linked with such an institution of a club.

"But the reality is there are very few players who can come and make a difference to Liverpool."

The club have yet to make any signings so far this summer, although Rodgers has ruled out the possibility of selling Luis Suarez.
