Report: Daniel Sturridge wants to leave Liverpool this summer

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is reportedly keen to leave Anfield in the summer due to the public criticism of his injury problems.

Daniel Sturridge is reportedly prepared to leave Liverpool this summer as he is unhappy with the criticism aimed towards him regarding his miserable injury record.

The England international, who missed the tail end of the 2014-15 campaign to have hip surgery, has been limited to just six appearances this season due to various muscular problems.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken publicly of his frustrations, and in November claimed that Sturridge needs to learn the difference between "what is serious pain and what is only pain".

Former players and pundits have also questioned Sturridge's attitude, with former Liverpool striker David Fairclough saying in October that the forward needs to show more "grit and determination".

According to The Mirror, the 26-year-old striker has had enough of the public criticism and wants a fresh start at a new club when the season comes to an end.

Sturridge, who joined Liverpool from Chelsea in January 2013, showcased his talent in his first full season at Anfield by scoring 24 goals and helping guide the Reds to second in the Premier League table.

Since then, though, the striker has only found the back of the net nine times and made 24 appearances in all competitions.
