Report: Manchester City lining up Raheem Sterling, Danny Ings swoop

Danny Ings and Raheem Sterling apparently top the wishlist of Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini this summer.

Manchester City are reportedly planning a double swoop for Raheem Sterling and Danny Ings in order to freshen up their attacking options ahead of next season.

The Citizens have fallen well short of the mark this campaign, sitting 13 points off champions-elect Chelsea following a largely disappointing run of results.

However, according to the Daily Star, Manuel Pellegrini will be backed once again this summer as he looks to bolster his squad.

Liverpool star Sterling, who has been heavily tipped with a move away from Anfield, is said to be top of the wishlist, while City could also deal the Reds another blow by landing one of their own targets in the form of Burnley forward Ings.

City signed Wilfried Bony from Swansea City in January, but the Ivory Coast international has failed to hit the mark in the early months of his Etihad career.
