Liverpool could reportedly sell Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz this summer as they make contact with representatives of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to consider selling Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz as it emerges they have seemingly made contact with Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

The Reds are reeling from a difficult week which saw them crash out of the Champions League before they lost 2-1 to Newcastle in Sunday's EFL Cup final.

Liverpool will be comforted by the fact that they are still on course to win the Premier League, having established a 12-point lead at the top of the table.

However, their results over the last week make it clear that they still need to strengthen their squad if they are to improve next season.

While there are likely to be some new arrivals, the Reds could also offload certain members of Arne Slot's squad in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool open to selling Nunez, Diaz

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool could allow Nunez and Diaz to leave Anfield ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Romano claims that there is an expectation that Nunez will depart despite having three years left to run on his contract with the Merseyside club.

Nunez was said to be close to leaving the club in January, and while no sale materialised, it seems that a summer departure is inevitable amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

There is also a 'concrete possibility' that Diaz could follow his fellow attacker out of the door when the transfer window opens this summer.

Diaz is said to have admirers at Catalan giants Barcelona, although it is unclear whether they would be able to pull off the transfer from a financial perspective.

Liverpool make Isak contact

Liverpool are also open to offloading Diogo Jota, while there is uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah's future at Anfield.

The Egypt international is at risk of walking away for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season.

With players set to depart, Liverpool are understood to be considering Newcastle's Isak as a potential option to strengthen their forward options.

Romano claims that the Reds have already made contact with people close to the player, although it will prove difficult to prise him away from St James' Park.

Newcastle are determined to keep one of their most prized assets, with the striker under contract until the summer of 2028.
