Liverpool 'open to offers for Nat Phillips'

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips will be allowed to leave the club for the right price this summer, according to a report.

With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip spending a large chunk of the season in the treatment room, Phillips impressively stepped up to fill the void in Jurgen Klopp's defence.

The 24-year-old formed a strong partnership with Ozan Kabak and started 15 Premier League games in the 2020-21 campaign, playing a key role in Liverpool's successful push for Champions League football.

However, The Sun claims that a fee of £10m may be enough for Liverpool to part ways with the centre-back, as Klopp is eyeing new signings in the rearguard for the 2021-22 campaign.

The report adds that Phillips's performances have attracted the attention of other Premier League clubs, while the imminent returns of Gomez and Van Dijk next season will limit his first-team opportunities.

Phillips played the full 90 minutes in each of Liverpool's last five Premier League matches - all of which ended in victory - and he scored his first goal for the club against Burnley in midweek.
