Liverpool face work permit concerns in Dejan Lovren transfer

Liverpool's hopes of signing Croatian Dejan Lovren may be thwarted by work permit issues.

Liverpool's attempts to sign Dejan Lovren may be thwarted by work permit issues.

The Reds are hoping to sign the 21-year-old Lyon defender for £3 million but fear they will fail to get permission for him to work in the UK, according to the Daily Mail.

Lovren, a Croatian international, joined Lyon in January 2010 on a four-and-a-half year deal for £8 million. He has since made 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side and netted one goal.

Liverpool turned their attentions to Lovren after missing out on Phil Jones to Man Utd.
