Marc Guehi transfer latest: Crystal Palace 'enquire' over ex-Chelsea defender amid Liverpool collapse fears

Ex-Chelsea defender could help Liverpool as Palace 'enquire' for new Guehi replacement

Crystal Palace have reportedly enquired about the availability of a former Chelsea defender as they scramble to find an alternative replacement for Liverpool-bound Marc Guehi.

The England international has agreed a £35m move to the Premier League champions, but a deal is now in slight jeopardy after reported target Igor Julio opted to join West Ham United from Brighton & Hove Albion instead.

The Eagles are now desperately trying to identify another suitable successor to Guehi, who has completed his medical with Liverpool but is still at the mercy of Crystal Palace should they decide to pull the plug on the deal.

According to TBRFootball, the FA Cup winners have now been in touch to discuss a deal for AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori, who is one of two Rossoneri defenders on the radar of Selhurst Park chiefs.

Palace are also thought to have taken a liking to Strahinja Pavlovic, but they accept that a deal for the ex-Monaco man will be too difficult to pull off, and Tomori has emerged as a viable alternative.

The 27-year-old has made 180 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions since first joining on loan in January 2021, but he is in the final two years of his contract at San Siro.

As well as a former Chelsea defender, Palace have supposedly expressed an interest in existing Blues centre-back Axel Disasi, but they face competition from West Ham United for the Frenchman.
