Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Liverpool injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Liverpool host Burnley at Anfield on Sunday knowing that the Premier League title race is now out of their own hands.

Four draws in their last six league outings have caused what was once a seven-point lead over Manchester City to turn into a one-point deficit with only nine games of the season remaining.

Three of those stalemates have come away from home, though, and Liverpool have been in fine form in front of their own fans domestically this season.

Jurgen Klopp could also be boosted by the returns of some key players this month, but the German boss will know that his side cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to catch the champions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for the Reds.

LIVERPOOL'S INJURY LIST

Dejan Lovren

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: March 10

Lovren is now back in training and Klopp suggested earlier this month that he could be ready to make his return in this weekend's match, having last featured on January 7.

James Milner

Status: Slight doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: March 10

Milner has been struggling with a "little muscular issue" in recent days, but Klopp suggested that he might recover in time for Sunday's match and the midfielder is set to undergo a late fitness test.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: March 31

This weekend will come too soon for Gomez, but the defender could make his long-awaited return after this month's international break.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: April 21

Oxlade-Chamberlain will mark a significant milestone in his recovery this week as he is due to play for Liverpool's Under-23s side. His return to the first team could still be more than a month away, though.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no suspensions for this game.
