John Toshack: 'There's a dark cloud over Liverpool'

John Toshack believes that Liverpool have a "dark cloud" hanging over them following last season's failure to win the Premier League.

Former Liverpool striker John Toshack believes that there is a "dark cloud" hanging over the club following last season's failure to win the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers's side finished two points behind champions Manchester City, but have failed to recreate that form this season having won just four of their 10 league matches.

"I still think they're feeling the effects of that a little bit," BBC Sport quotes Toshack as saying. "They went so close after being so long without winning that championship. I still think there's a bit of a hangover there. I think there's a dark cloud hanging over Anfield."

On Saturday, the Reds will take on league leaders Chelsea.
