Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge: 'Good start is important'

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge believes that a positive start is imperative for the club to have a successful Premier League campaign.

The Reds, who finished seventh last season, began the new term with a 1-0 win over Stoke City last weekend courtesy of a strike from Sturridge.

"It's always good to get off to a good start if you can and then going past Christmas, that's when you enter the business end of the season, so it's good to lay the foundations down at the beginning," Sturridge told the club's official website.

The Reds continue their campaign with a trip to the Midlands to face Aston Villa tomorrow evening.
