Jonjo Shelvey has warned upcoming opponents to beware of Liverpool after admitting that they let Villa off the hook.
Shelvey made his full league debut in the 2-0 win over Villa at the weekend, missing a chance himself during the game.
The midfielder has had to wait a year to make an impact following his £1.7 million move from Charlton Athletic.
"It was good to get the shout to play and hopefully I repaid the manager with the performance and I'm worthy of starting the next game," said Shelvey.
"With the chances we created against Villa, we should have won by at least four or five but it is only a matter of time before we do hammer someone four or five-nil.
"The teams we are going to be playing in the next few weeks should be worried."
Liverpool face Wigan at the DW Stadium on Wednesday.
