Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his team are starting to produce the same style and confidence that resulted in a second-place finish in the Premier League last season.
The Reds' form has been in stark contrast to the 2013-14 campaign as they won just six from their first 14 league matches.
However, Liverpool are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, and Rodgers believes that the turning point was against Manchester United, despite his side losing 3-0 at Old Trafford.
"There has been a lot of work, a lot of hours going in to find a tactical idea to get back to that," Rodgers told reporters. "Obviously it wasn't traditional because we are having to play a young winger as a striker but the shape of the team causes other teams problems.
"If you look at how we played against Manchester United we were very unfortunate and we conceded poor goals, but the creativity started that day. We looked at a shape and system that could get us back to how we played last year."
After securing a 4-1 win over Swansea City at Anfield last night, Liverpool are now five points adrift of fourth place in the league table.
