Simon Mignolet: 'Liverpool will keep fighting'

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet insists that he and his teammates are eager to end the season on a high despite their Champions League hopes being all but over.

Simon Mignolet has insisted that Liverpool will keep fighting despite their Champions League hopes being all but over.

Sunday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea means that the Reds are unlikely to secure a top-four finish this term.

Brendan Rodgers's side are six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United with two games left to play, but they have a vastly inferior goal difference.

Mignolet has now assured fans that he and his teammates will do all that they can to end the campaign on a high.

"We have learned a lot this season, especially me, and we'll take that into next season," he told the club's official website. "We still have two games to play. We'll keep fighting for points. We'll keep training hard every day and stay focused until the end of the season. I haven't analysed why we've missed out on the top four because I'm focused on the job in hand."

Liverpool will play their final home game of the season on Saturday when Crystal Palace make the trip to Anfield.
