Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane tips the Reds to finish second in the Premier League table this season.

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane is confident that the Reds will finish second in the Premier League table this season.

Jurgen Klopp's side moved into the position behind Manchester City with a 4-1 win over West Ham United on Saturday, but Manchester United moved back above them courtesy of their 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

Mane has conceded that "it will be difficult" to catch City due to their 15-point advantage over the Merseyside club, but the 25-year-old is eyeing second position ahead of United.

"Second is one of our targets," Mane told reporters. "Honestly, Manchester City are too far ahead and it will be difficult to catch them but it is still possible to be second and we are going to do our best to get it."

Liverpool will welcome Newcastle United to Anfield for their next Premier League match this weekend, before visiting United on March 10.
