Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp 'sends Mamadou Sakho home from US tour'

Mamadou Sakho sent home from US tour

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly sent Mamadou Sakho home from the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

The French centre-back is currently nursing an Achilles injury, which has ruled him out of the early stages of the Premier League season.

Despite being injured, Sakho travelled with his teammates overseas, but last night he flew back to London Heathrow with youngster Brad Smith, who is on the verge of joining Bournemouth.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the defender's future at Anfield has plunged into doubt after he was sent back to the UK due to concerns over his attitude around the training base in California.

Sakho was facing a lengthy ban from UEFA after he tested positive for a banned fat-burning substance, but after a 30-day provisional suspension, the case was thrown out.
