Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes that his side are capable of winning silverware over the next few years.

The England skipper, who signed a new two-year contract extension at Anfield earlier this summer, is pleased with the Reds' signings so far in this transfer window.

"Is success around the corner? I hope so," said Gerrard in a press conference.

"We have bought well in the off-season and if we can get another two players in key areas then we have a good chance."

Liverpool's last success came in the form of the League Cup which they won in 2012.
