Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish heaps praise upon his side after they reached the FA Cup final with a 2-1 win over local rivals Everton.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has praised his side's character during their 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup semi-final.

A late header from Andy Carroll, coupled with Luis Suarez's earlier strike, was enough to put the Reds into their second domestic cup final of the season, having already picked up the Carling Cup.

Despite recent poor form in the league, Dalglish was delighted with his side and was quick to praise their team spirit.

"I think the players that were out there - and the players that have made a contribution throughout the whole run in the FA Cup - have been fantastic for the football club," said Dalglish.

"Their attitude, application and intent in getting that positive result from today's game was there for everybody to see.

"Whether it's deserved or not, people are going to have their own opinion on it - but everything needed to win a football game, we showed today as a team."

Liverpool will play either Tottenham Hotspur or Chelsea in the FA Cup final, which will take place on May 5.
