Liverpools 4-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby sees them become the first English top-flight team to score multiple goals in 18 successive matches.

Liverpool have become the first ever English club to score more than one goal in 18 consecutive matches across all competitions courtesy of Wednesday night's 4-1 win over rivals Everton at Goodison Park.

Goals from Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah saw Jurgen Klopp's side achieve the notable feat within 20 minutes of the Merseyside derby.

Demarai Gray then pulled one back for Everton before half time, but another goal from Salah put Liverpool back in control before Diogo Jota completed the scoring to make it three league games in a row in which the Reds have netted four times.

Sunderland in 1927 were the only other team to have previously scored two or more goals in 17 successive games across all competitions, but Liverpool have now surpassed that mark to move out on their own in the annals of English football history.

The last time Klopp's men failed to score more than once was the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on August 28, since when they have scored 57 times in 18 outings - an average of more than three per game.

Liverpool are also averaging more than three goals a game in the Premier League this season, and their tally of 43 goals is the most of any team in Europe's top five leagues.

Twenty-five of those have come away from home too - the most of any team after seven away games of a top-flight campaign since Burnley in 1961-62.

Liverpool will be looking to continue their remarkable scoring streak when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday.
