Liverpool: 'Bournemouth game will go ahead as planned'

Liverpool confirm that their League Cup match with Bournemouth on Wednesday will go ahead as planned, despite a security breach a day before the game.

Liverpool have confirmed that their League Cup third-round match at home to Bournemouth will go ahead as planned.

Anfield was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon following a security breach, but the stadium has since reopened.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Liverpool Football Club can confirm Wednesday's Capital One Cup tie with AFC Bournemouth at Anfield will go ahead as planned.

"The stadium was temporarily closed as a precautionary measure on Tuesday due to an incident, which has since been resolved.

"Therefore, the fixture with Bournemouth will be contested as scheduled, with Anfield unaffected by the incident that led to the temporary closure."

The League Cup game will kick off at 7.45pm as Jurgen Klopp looks to pick up his first win in charge of the Reds.
