Premier League 100 club: Harry Kane moves to within one of Wayne Rooney

Sports Mole rounds up the latest standings in the Premier League 100 club following goals for Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah over the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur fans did not have much to cheer during their 6-1 embarrassment at the hands of Newcastle United on Sunday, but for talisman Harry Kane the game took him one step closer to second spot in the all-time Premier League top-scorers list.

Kane was helpless watching on as his side shipped five goals in an astonishing opening 21 minutes at St James' Park, meaning that his goal was already little more than a consolation despite coming just four minutes into the second half.

The impressive solo effort was number 207 in the English top flight for the England skipper, leaving him now just one behind Wayne Rooney's tally.

Mohamed Salah was also on the scoresheet this weekend to equal Robbie Fowler's Liverpool goal haul, with his winner in the 3-2 triumph over Nottingham Forest number 136 in the Premier League, leaving him eight behind Robin van Persie as the 13th-highest scorer in the competition's history.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest standings in the Premier League 100 club following the weekend's action.
