Jordan Henderson hopes to be fit for Liverpool's Europa League final

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that captain Jordan Henderson believes he can be fit for the Europa League final.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that captain Jordan Henderson believes that he can recover from injury in time to play in the Europa League final.

The midfielder has been out of action since early April after suffering a knee injury during the Reds' 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

Klopp recently claimed that Henderson is on course to be fit for England's campaign at the European Championships this summer, but after watching the Reds progress into the final with a 3-0 win over Villarreal last night, the player himself is hopeful of making the showpiece on May 18.

Divock Origi, who suffered ankle ligament damage last month, is also keen to make the final, which will be against Sevilla in Basel.

"[Henderson] was really celebrating," Klopp said in Friday's press conference. "I saw in is eyes that he believes he has a chance [for the final]. Same for Divock Origi.

"If they are available for the Sunday before then there's a chance. Otherwise we can't take the risk."

This weekend, Liverpool will take on Watford at Anfield.
