Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold: 'We will get better, goals will come'

Alexander-Arnold: 'We will get better'

Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has insisted that goals will flood in from the team's attacking stars following a disappointing night in Russia.

The Merseyside outfit created a handful of goalscoring opportunities, but only one was converted in a 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents Spartak Moscow last night.

Philippe Coutinho was the man to get on the scoresheet and cancel out Fernando's earlier goal, but Jurgen Klopp's side were unable to find the winner, despite the manager starting the Brazilian alongside Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah for the first time this season.

In 11 games in all competitions, the Merseyside outfit have scored 21 goals, but they have also conceded 18, which has raised big questions over the team's defence.

Alexander-Arnold, though, feels that it is only a matter of time before everything clicks and the Reds go on a positive run.

"Each game, we're getting better and stronger - you can see that in our performances," the 18-year-old told Liverpool's official website. "It's just the goals that are missing at the moment but with time they'll come and we'll get better and better.

"We created a lot more chances than [Spartak] did and had a lot more shots. We just couldn't get that second goal. We're disappointed going home."

Alexander-Arnold has started three Premier League games and one in the Champions League so far this season.
