Libya edge out Ethiopia in African Nations Championship

Libya have kicked off their African Nations Championship with a 2-0 win over Ethiopia in Mangaung.

El Mutasem Abushnaf gave Libya the lead in just the fourth minute when he drove into the box before finishing from a tight angle.

Both sides had chance to score the second but it was Libya who did six minutes from time when Abd Selam Al Fitouri took advantage of an Ethiopian defensive mix-up to seal the win.

Libya go top of Group C and next face Ghana, the other side in the group to win, on Friday evening.
