Nigel Pearson: 'Our transfer targets would surprise people'

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson claims that the club's transfer targets would surprise people.

Nigel Pearson has suggested that Leicester City have the potential to surprise people with the players they have targeted in recent weeks.

After winning the Championship last season, Pearson believes that recruiting players with contrasting characters is the only way the Foxes will be able to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

"I don't want to just sign angels, if players are available that will make us more capable to win games we will take that into consideration," the Leicester boss told members of the media.

"People like to pigeon hole you and say we will only build conservatively. That's not always the case.

"Some of the players we have tried to sign - and have not materialised - will have surprised a few people."

Leicester begin their Premier League campaign by hosting Everton on August 16.
