Leicester City sign Polish defender Marcin Wasilewski

Leicester City have signed veteran Polish defender Marcin Wasilewski on a one-year contract.

The 33-year-old's move will be fully confirmed once it is cleared by the Football League and the Football Association.

"I have always dreamed of playing in England so to sign for Leicester is fantastic for me," Wasilewski told the club's official website.

"I saw the team beat Wigan at the weekend and was very impressed with everything about the club.

"It has been a very good start to the season and I hope to be able to help us win promotion to the Premier League."

Wasilewski will not be able to play against Blackburn tonight but could feature in Saturday's trip to Blackpool.
