Jamie Vardy to face extended ban for reaction to red card?

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy could face further disciplinary action from the FA for his reaction to the red card he received in the 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy could face additional action from the Football Association following his reaction to being sent off during today's 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

Vardy took his tally for the season to 22 when he opened the scoring in the 18th minute at the King Power Stadium, but he was given his marching orders shortly before the hour mark when referee Jonathan Moss showed him a second yellow card for diving.

The 29-year-old was incensed by the decision and made his stance clear to the referee having felt that he had been bundled over by Angelo Ogbonna inside the penalty area.

Should Moss include the incident in his report of the game then the FA could charge the England international with misconduct and add a further match onto his one-game ban.

Chelsea's Diego Costa was hit by a similar punishment earlier this month as the FA gave him an additional one-match ban, fined him £20,000 and warned him as to his future conduct for his reaction to the red card he received in the FA Cup quarter-final against Everton.
