Jeffrey Schlupp: 'Claudio Ranieri keeps us humble'

Leicester's Jeffrey Schlupp praises manager Claudio Ranieri for keeping the team grounded during their unexpected title challenge.

Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp has said that manager Claudio Ranieri is doing a good job of keeping the team grounded.

The Foxes are closing in on arguably the most extraordinary title victory in English football history, with five points separating them from second-placed Tottenham Hotspur and only seven games of the season remaining.

However, Schlupp insists that they are not thinking about the gravity of their potential achievement, and are instead focusing on each game as it comes.

"He's just kept us humble. He's told us to take every game as it comes. We go out to win every game and we've got another three points," Schlupp told the club's official website.

"I'm sure he'll keep saying the same stuff until the end of the season. We're just staying grounded and taking each game as it comes. It's always nice to put the pressure on opponents that are in and around us but we always concentrate on what we're doing.

"Everyone will do what they've got to do with their international teams and come back together ready for our next game."

Leicester, who were still bottom of the table 12 months ago, host Southampton in their first match back after the international break.
