Brendna Rodgers remains under pressure as Leicester City manager as the Foxes are held to a drab goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Leicester City have been held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace in the Premier League, keeping Brendan Rodgers under pressure at the King Power Stadium.

The Northern Irishman went into Saturday's game ideally requiring all three points to move his Foxes side off the bottom of the table.

Although a stalemate with the Eagles moved Leicester ahead of Nottingham Forest on goal difference ahead of their rivals' meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers later in the day, this will feel like a missed opportunity after another below-par performance.

Meanwhile, Palace have progressed into 13th position, making it just one defeat in their last five outings and building on last weekend's comeback victory over Leeds United.

While both teams regularly advanced into the other's final third, clear-cut chances were few and far between, with Patson Daka seeing a shot palmed away at Vicente Guaita at one end and Eberechi Eze's long-range effort swerving over Danny Ward's crossbar at the other.

There was a similar trend to play after the break, the first opportunity going to James Maddison who miscued a shot over the bar from close range after being found by Harvey Barnes.

Odsonne Edouard had Palace's best effort of the second half, finding a gap through a couple of defenders only to see Ward claw away his shot to his right.

During the closing stages, Leicester were implored to show more urgency going forward by their supporters, but the lack of significant opportunities continued through to the full-time whistle.

Leicester are next in action when they play host to Leeds United on Thursday night, while Palace play host to fellow struggling side Wolverhampton Wanderers two days earlier.
