Leicester City boss Claude Puel suggests that he has been surprised by the club's form since his arrival at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has suggested that he did not expect his side to record 10 points from his first six games in charge.

Earlier this season, Puel replaced Craig Shakespeare after the Foxes' indifferent start to the season, and the East Midlands outfit have recently gone on to record wins over Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley respectively.

The run of results has left Leicester in ninth place in the standings, but Puel has insisted that his players must continue to look for ways to improve over the course of the campaign.

The 56-year-old told reporters: "I don't know if I expected this. The most important thing is to continue the hard work and to keep building momentum and confidence. We need to try and improve all the time.

"We must keep a good focus and try to make a strong game. After, we'll see the result."

Leicester make the trip to St James' Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday evening.
