Leicester consider Almeyda for vacant job?

Leicester City are reportedly considering a surprise move for CD Guadalajara boss Matias Almeyda.

Last week, the Foxes made the decision to sack Craig Shakespeare after a poor start to the season, and a number of established names have been linked with the vacant role at the King Power Stadium.

However, according to The Mirror, the Leicester hierarchy hold an interest in Almeyda, who has spent the last eight years of his playing and managerial career in South America.

The former Argentina international is best known for his spell in Serie A with Lazio, Parma and Inter Milan, but the 43-year-old has built his reputation in the dugout at River Plate, Banfield and Guadalajara.

Almeyda has won 112 of his 241 games in charge, and clinched the Mexican Premier League title with his current club last season.

Fellow South American Manuel Pellegrini - the former boss of Manchester City - has also been linked with the East Midlands outfit.
