Leicester City reportedly hold talks with former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch over their vacant manager's position.

Leicester City have reportedly held talks with former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch about their managerial vacancy.

The Foxes are currently without a permanent manager after Brendan Rodgers was relieved of his duties following a narrow defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend.

Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell were subsequently placed in interim charge, but their tenure began with a 2-1 home loss against Aston Villa in midweek.

With seven matches left to play, Leicester are languishing in the relegation zone with two points separating them from safety.

They are currently preparing for Saturday's crucial Premier League game against relegation rivals Bournemouth.

The Leicester board are hopeful that Sadler and Stowell can pick up enough points between now and the end of the season to keep the club in the top flight.

However, if the Foxes are unable to claim a positive result against Bournemouth, they could move quickly to appoint an interim or permanent manager.

Rafael Benitez and Sam Allardyce are believed to be potential candidates for a temporary role if the Foxes decide to go down that route.

However, according to The Athletic, Leicester have already spoken to Marsch about the club's managerial position.

Marsch has indicated that he would be happy to take on the role even if the Foxes are relegated to the Championship.

The 49-year-old was appointed Leeds United boss in February 2022 and he went on to keep the club in the Premier League with a dramatic win on the final day of the season.

However, his tenure as Leeds manager lasted just shy of a year before he was sacked in February, leaving the Yorkshire club in 17th place.

Not long after departing Elland Road, Marsch was believed to be in talks to become Southampton boss, but discussions broke down over the length of the contract.

The Saints wanted Marsch to initially take over until the end of the season, while the American was looking for a longer-term deal.

As well as coaching Leeds, Marsch has previously managed Montreal Impact, New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig.
