Team News: Nigel Pearson hands son James Leicester City debut

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson hands his son James a senior debut in one of eight changes made by the Foxes for their League Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town.

Nigel Pearson has given a Leicester City debut to son James Pearson for their Capital One Cup second-round tie with Shrewsbury Town at the King Power Stadium.

The 21-year-old comes in at right-back in one of eight changes made from the side that lost 2-0 to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Paul Konchesky, Riyad Mahrez and Liam Moore are the only players who retain their places, while Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Chris Wood and Anthony Knockaert are presented with an opportunity to impress.

League Two Shrewsbury visit the East Midlands having yet to lose a game this season, but are without former Republic of Ireland international midfielder Liam Lawrence through suspension.

Jermaine Grandison and James Collins are recalled by Salop, with Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Ashley Vincent dropped.

Leicester: Hamer; Konchesky, Moore, Taylor-Fletcher, Knockaert, Mahrez, Wasilewski, Pearson, Cain, Wood, Watson

Shrewsbury: Leutwiler; Grandison, Demetriou, Woods, Goldson, Collins, Gayle, Wesolowski, Mangan, Knight-Percival, Clark
