Uwe Rosler: 'Sam Byram is not for sale'

Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler has insisted that the club will not be selling Sam Byram.

The defender has been linked with Premier League sides Everton and Swansea City, with the former reportedly making an £8m enquiry for the 21-year-old.

However, Rosler says that he has been assured by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino that Byram will not be sold this summer.

"I've heard a lot of talk about Sam Byram but we've only received one enquiry, we haven't even had an official bid," Rosler told talkSPORT.

"Sam is as good as gold. He works extremely hard, as does the whole squad. He's playing very well and has a contract with us. Obviously he's a talented young English player, so people are going to be sniffing around him, but Mr Cellino has told me we don't need to sell.

"There are no plans whatsoever to sell one of our young talented players."

Byram has made 119 appearances for Leeds in all competitions.
