Antonsson 'close to permanent Leeds exit'

Leeds United striker Marcus Antonsson will leave the club in the coming days and return to his native Sweden with Malmo, according to a report.

The 27-year-old was unsure whether he would feature in new manager Marcelo Bielsa's plans for next season after spending 2017-18 on loan with Blackburn Rovers.

Following a couple of years in English football, the Yorkshire Evening Post claims that Antonsson is being shipped out of Elland Road on a permanent basis.

Malmo, now managed by ex-Leeds boss Uwe Rosler, are said to have agreed a fee with Leeds and plan to unveil the former Halmstads BK and Kalmar attacker by the end of Monday.

Antonsson, who played a total of 21 games for United, is also rumoured to have been a target for Italian outfit Brescia.
