Brian McDermott 'to take training at Leeds United three days after reported axe'

Brian McDermott reportedly returns to Leeds United today to take the team's training session, just three days after allegedly getting the sack.

Brian McDermott will reportedly return to Leeds United this morning to conduct the team's training session at the club's Thorp Arch base.

Reports emerged just hours before the transfer window closed on Friday that the former Reading boss had been dismissed from his post.

It is believed that McDermott was given his marching orders ahead of prospective new owner Massimo Cellino's arrival at the club.

However, following Leeds's 5-1 victory over Huddersfield Town on Saturday, the club released a statement claiming that McDermott remains the Championship outfit's manager.

McDermott will now continue his role as normal by taking charge of today's training session, according to Sky Sports News.

Cellino is expected to buy a 75% controlling stake at Elland Road.
