Uwe Rosler hails "unbelievable" Leeds United supporters

Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler says that he "could not have dreamt of a better atmosphere" in his first competitive game in charge of the club.

Uwe Rosler has praised Leeds United supporters for generating an "unbelievable" atmosphere in his first league game in charge of the club.

The 46-year-old, who has previously managed Brentford and Wigan Athletic, took over from Neil Redfearn in May.

Rosler issued a rallying cry in the build-up to Saturday's Championship opener against Burnley, tasking Leeds fans to turn up the noise levels, and he believes those inside Elland Road duly delivered.

"The support we got was unbelievable - the place was rocking," he told United's official website. "It was unbelievable.

"When we drove the bus into Elland Road and saw the amount of people who were already there, I told my coaches, 'This is why we're working so hard, take that moment in'.

"I said to them, 'This is just the start'. It was fantastic. I couldn't have dreamt of a better atmosphere in my first competitive game."

Mirco Antenucci's strike seven minutes from time was not enough for Leeds, who had to make do with a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Sam Vokes equaliser.
