Paul Heckingbottom: 'Leeds United were fantastic in Bristol City draw'

Leeds United boss Paul Heckingbottom is delighted with the club's "fantastic" fans for inspiring the team to a comeback 2-2 draw against Bristol City on Sunday.

Leeds United manager Paul Heckingbottom has praised the club's fans for inspiring their team to a comeback 2-2 draw against Bristol City on Sunday.

The Whites found themselves two goals down as Famara Diedhiou and Bobby Reid struck inside the opening 16 minutes of the Championship match at Elland Road.

However, Leeds fought back as Pierre-Michel Lasogga and substitute Kemar Roofe scored in the final 18 minutes to secure a point for the hosts.

"I thought [the fans] were fantastic," Heckingbottom told reporters at full time.

"It was still 2-0 and there were not many people not singing. The scarves were out and they played a part in getting the point for their team today, possibly even three.

"That is what the fans' support deserved because that is what spurs the players on. My job is done at half time and with the substitutions. I can't shout as loud as 30,000 here. They made a huge difference today."

The result sees Leeds finish the weekend 11th in the Championship table.
