Clark understands Leeds rumours

Huddersfield Town boss Lee Clark believes that his managerial ability is the reason behind speculation linking him with the vacant Leeds United job.

Clark is believed to be a top candidate for Simon to replace Grayson, who was sacked by the Championship side on Wednesday.

"I am aware of [the speculation], but ultimately it is the same as last time," Clark told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner. "I am not trying to blow my own trumpet, but it is because people outside our football club think I am doing a good job.

"I have been linked with a number of jobs over the past 12 months but I think that is because our record backs that up. I don't think I'm too bad a manager really and that's why people are interested, I think.

"It's just speculation. Until I am told otherwise, I am the manager of Huddersfield Town."

Former Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock has also been tipped as a contender for the managerial vacancy.
