Luciano Becchio to miss start of the season

Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio will miss the start of the Championship season.

The Argentinian has undergone minor surgery on a hamstring injury, and it has not been disclosed how long the forward will be out for.

"Luciano has had the operation and he will miss the start of the season," manager Simon Grayson told the club's official website.

The 27-year-old scored 20 goals in the Championship last season, in which the Yorkshire club finished one place outside of the playoff places.
