The League Cup is re-branded as the Capital One Cup after a deal between the credit card company and the Football League.

The League Cup will be re-branded as the Capital One Cup from next season.

The UK-based credit card company has signed a four-year deal with the Football League for sponsorship of the competition.

The tournament had been named the Carling Cup after a deal with brewers Molson Coors that was signed in 2003.

Liverpool are the current holders of the trophy after a penalty shootout victory over Cardiff City in February.
