Gianfranco Zola to become Lazio boss?

Gianfranco Zola has emerged as the surprise favourite to land the manager's job at Serie A side Lazio.

Despite the club rejecting the resignation of current coach Edy Reja earlier this week, Zola has reportedly held initial talks at the Stadio Olimpico, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The 45-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked as manager of West Ham United in 2010.

Lazio are currently fourth in the Serie A table.
