Lazio beat Roma to win Coppa Italia

Lazio have won the Coppa Italia for the first time since 2009 with a narrow 1-0 victory over rivals Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

The decisive moment in what was a largely forgettable contest came in the 71st minute when Senad Lulic stabbed the ball home after Antonio Candreva's shot had been saved by Bogdan Lobont.

Roma nearly scored an equaliser minutes later, but Francesco Totti's free kick came off the underside of the crossbar before being gathered by goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.

The triumph means that Lazio have now won the tournament a total of six times in their history.
