Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon has declared that retaining the Serie A title this afternoon was an entirely different feeling to last season's success.
Antonio Conte's side secured their second successive Scudetto courtesy of 1-0 win over Palermo today, with Arturo Vidal scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot.
Veteran goalkeeper Buffon believes that Juve's performances this season came under severe internal pressure, which makes the achievement more special.
He told Mediaset Premium: "I am very happy, because this has a different feeling to last year's, but that doesn't mean it is an inferior feeling.
"In all of these weeks we put one brick at a time to secure our victories, appreciating this Scudetto bit by bit. The difference from last year is that we had nothing to lose, whereas this time we were forced to win otherwise it would've been treated like a failure.
"There was a lot of responsibility on our shoulders, as it isn't easy to win again in that situation. In 12 years at Juventus I finished first on seven occasions, including Serie B, so winning helps you to win."
Juve will celebrate their Serie A success later this evening with an open-top bus parade around Turin.
